Resources for individual study and summer research projects:
- Databases that allow you to search for articles by authors or keywords and that link to electronic copies of many of these articles are MathSciNet for mathematics, PubMed for the life sciences, and Web of Science for mathematics and the sciences (these resources need to be accessed from the campus network).
- LaTeX is a word-processing language that makes it easy to use figures and mathematical expressions in documents: more information can be found in this LaTeX example file [zipped file] and the LaTeX poster template [zipped file]. If you want to combine the advantages of LaTeX with those of a more standard word processing package such as Word, which is based on typing text and mathematical expressions directly in a graphical interface, have a look at Lyx.
