Goal: Develop templates for

This informal course is offered as part of our VIGRE Program to all first and second-year graduate students (anybody else interested in this seminar is, of course, welcome to attend!).

We all strive to make an impact with the results of our work, be it in academia or in business. For results to be noticed and used, however, they need to be disseminated by writing reports and publishing papers, and by giving oral presentations at conferences, meetings and the like. We will also discuss thoroughly a number of papers and reports. Within the limited time frame, we will practice these tasks as much as we can (though much more practice will be available during your Working Group Rotations!).

Depending on your interest, we may discuss other topics related to your teaching or research experience, questions that you may have about getting advice or things to do now to make your application more attractive when you graduate ...
