Mohsen Zayernouri

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Division of Applied Mathematics

Brown University

Mentor:

Prof. George Em Karniadakis

Biography:

Mohsen Zayernouri obtained his M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Tehran Polytechnic, Iran, in 2006. He received the best national M.Sc. award from the Iranian Society of Mechanical Engineering (ISME). Subsequently, he joined the University of Utah, where he acquired his first Ph.D. in mechanical engineering in 2010. Although he started as a passionate engineer, his mathematical appetite bent him to a new exciting direction right after defending his Ph.D. thesis at Utah. Consequently, he joined Brown University and earned his second Ph.D. in applied mathematics under the advice of Prof. George Em Karniadakis in 2014.

Dr. Zayernouri will join the department of Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (CMSE) joint with the department of mechanical engineering at Michigan State University in Fall 2015.
